Keplar Workshop

Keplar Workshop

Now Society musicians introduced students at the Laura Secord Elementary School to another dimension of graphic production and music improvisation. Each student created their own version of the planet Keplar 186f, a planet recently discovered by NASA's space telescope Keplar, which is believed to be the first Earth sized planet orbiting a star in the habitable zone and may possibly contain life. In three separate rooms, each with two coaches, three classes of students made an abstract drawing of how they imagined the planet might be, outlining the atmosphere, the surface and the core of the planet. Then all the students came together in the music room so the musicians could play the students works, in three parts, performing the 'core' the 'surface' and finally, the 'atmosphere.'
